The message is very simple. It sums up why you are contacting the seller, it stands out because it seems to be private and handwritten, and it includes a clear call to action. Yellow letters have been around for a while now. Some swear by them, while others say too many investors use them and the market is saturated. I know for a fact they are still working. If you check out the Forums of BiggerPockets, you will see success stories from investors involving yellow letters, and you may find a few companies who handle the yellow-letter process recommended. Still, some investors struggle to make them work in their market since this medium is so popular right now.
Now, on to postcards. These arenât the ones you sent home from summer camp with a picture of Lake Tomahawk. These are cheap little marketing missiles shot to as many people as possible. Why so many? Typically, a postcard will get less response from a seller than a yellow or professional letter. Response rate from sellers is important when tracking your campaigns.
